Labor for a skirted, rolled-arm club or wingback chair runs $650 to $900, with fabric adding roughly $700. A three-seat sofa starts around $1,500 in labor plus roughly $1,200 in fabric, so a complete job starts near $2,500.
Is an older, well-built frame worth reupholstering?
Very often. A solid hardwood frame from a good maker usually outlasts anything you could buy new at the same price. If the exposed wood needs work too, we refinish it in the same shop before it goes to the upholstery bench.
How do I choose fabric?
You pick from our Greenhouse Fabrics swatch books, or supply your own (a $35 per yard COM fee applies). Selected fabric takes about a week to arrive. For a sofa in regular use we look for 30,000 rubs or higher, and 50,000 or higher for the family room that never gets a day off.
How long does reupholstery take, and do you pick up in Lakewood?
Reupholstery runs 6 to 12 weeks depending on the shop’s workload. Fabric selection and the deposit happen before pickup so the material is here when your piece arrives. We are about 35 minutes north, and pickup and delivery starts at $250 round trip.
