Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about furniture refinishing in Lake Highlands.
Are my original ranch-house cabinets good candidates for refinishing?
If they are solid wood or real wood veneer, yes, and most cabinets from Lake Highlands’ building era are. Plastic laminate or thermofoil over particleboard is the one construction we cannot refinish. Photos sort it out quickly.
How does the work happen in my home?
The cabinet boxes are refinished in place, while doors and drawer fronts come to our Carrollton shop for stripping, color and a durable sprayed finish. Whole-kitchen jobs typically wrap up within about two weeks.
Can you take my cabinets darker?
Yes. Stains, paints, and antique, faux, whitewash or pickling looks are all on the table, in sheens from matte to satin. The one limit is that wood cannot be stained lighter than its natural color.
What does cabinet refinishing cost compared to replacement?
A fraction, with no demolition and no weeks of a torn-up kitchen. The price depends on the number of doors and drawers and the finish you choose, so kitchens get a detailed estimate rather than a flat rate.
