Furniture Refinishing
With most of Allen’s homes built since 2000, a lot of the furniture we refinish from Allen is newer than people expect, often real wood veneer over an engineered core, and pieces like that reward careful prep and good materials as much as any antique.
At Andrew’s, we take pride in using only the best and most advanced materials on the market. We believe that spending extra money on the best materials gives us consistency and keeps our customers happy with their newly restored furniture!
Our qualified team of professionals can custom stain and color tone to match as close as possible to any example as specified by the client. We work each layer by hand for a superior finish.
Want to do a project yourself but don’t want to have to deal with hours of the prep work? Let us chemically strip your piece down so that you don’t have to!

Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about furniture refinishing in Allen.
How much does furniture refinishing cost in Allen?
Refinishing jobs start around $600 and rise with the size and condition of the piece. A single dining chair runs $275 to $375, a nightstand starts at $650, and a dresser or hutch $1,200 to $2,200. A free online photo estimate gives you a real number.
My furniture is veneer over particleboard. Can it be refinished?
If it is real wood veneer, yes, and that is a big share of what we refinish. Plastic laminate over particleboard is a different story and cannot be refinished. Send photos and we will tell you which you have.
Can you change the color to suit a new room?
Yes. We dial in the color on the actual piece with test passes, usually three to six, until it looks right. You can go darker or shift the tone, but we cannot stain wood lighter than its natural color.
How long does it take, and do you pick up in Allen?
Standard refinishing runs about 5 to 6 weeks. Allen is about 20 to 25 minutes from our Carrollton shop, so you can drop off, or we can pick up and deliver starting at $250 round trip, quoted in your estimate.
