Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about furniture refinishing in Bishop Arts / North Oak Cliff.
What furniture repairs do you handle in North Oak Cliff?
Re-gluing loose joints, dowel and leg repair, broken supports, mirror and glass replacement, deep scratch and gouge fills, and cane or rush seat replacement. Hardware work rides along with a larger repair or refinishing job.
A chair from my grandmother's set finally came apart. Fixable?
Almost certainly. Old joints get taken fully apart, the failed glue cleaned out, and the frame re-glued and pinned so it holds. That is far better for the piece than a screw or a squeeze of glue from the outside.
Can you redo the cane seat on my chair?
Yes, cane and rush replacement is regular work here. Wicker and rattan weaving is the one seat style we pass on, so send a photo if you are not sure which yours is.
What does repair work cost?
Basic repairs start at our $125 shop minimum, and the free online photo estimate is binding, so the number you approve is the number you pay.
