Kitchen Cabinets

Fort Worth’s historic neighborhoods run heavily to houses built between the 1900s and the 1940s, and in kitchens of that vintage the cabinet wood is very often worth keeping even when the color is not.

Sometimes we just want a change, and new kitchen cabinets can be very expensive. We love giving our guys an excuse to leave the building and we’ll come out to your home to give your kitchen a whole new look! Maybe your kitchen cabinets are too light, and you want them darker. Or, maybe they need to be updated? A new stain, some new hardware, and you have yourself an amazing transformation! Which ever kitchen cabinet refinishing look you are going for, we know you will be pleased!

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about furniture refinishing in Fort Worth.

How does an in-home cabinet job work?

The boxes are refinished in place, usually 1 to 2 days of work in your kitchen, while the doors and drawer fronts travel to our shop for stripping, color and a durable finish. A whole-kitchen job typically finishes in about two weeks.

Can my cabinets actually be refinished?

Solid wood and real-wood-veneer cabinets refinish well, which covers most of the cabinetry we see in Fort Worth’s older houses. Plastic laminate and thermofoil over particleboard cannot be refinished. Photos, including one of a door edge, tell us which you have.

Can you go lighter?

We can change tone, go darker, or take you to paint, plus antique, faux, whitewash and pickling looks in sheens from matte to satin. We cannot stain lighter than the natural wood, so a genuinely lighter kitchen means paint rather than stain. That is a real option and often the right one in a period house.

Do you travel to Fort Worth for cabinet work?

Yes. The in-home portion is 1 to 2 days, so it is a planned visit rather than a repeat trip, and the doors come back with us to the shop. Every kitchen gets its own detailed estimate, since the number depends on how many doors and drawers you have and the finish you choose.
