Are the cabinets in a century-old house candidates for refinishing?
If they are solid wood or real wood veneer, yes, and original built-ins from this era usually are. Laminate or thermofoil over particleboard is the one construction that cannot be refinished. Photos settle it quickly.
How disruptive is the work?
Not very. The boxes are refinished in your home while doors and drawer fronts go to our Carrollton shop for stripping, color and a durable sprayed finish. Whole-kitchen jobs typically wrap within about two weeks, with only a day or two of in-home work.
What finish styles fit an older Oak Cliff home?
Stains and paints plus antique, faux, whitewash and pickling treatments, in sheens from matte to satin. We can take cabinets darker or shift the tone entirely; the one limit is that wood cannot go lighter than its natural color.
