Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about furniture refinishing in Frisco.
Can builder-grade cabinets be refinished?
If they are solid wood or real-wood veneer, yes, and many builder cabinets are. If they are thermofoil or plastic laminate over particleboard, they cannot be refinished, and the difference is not always obvious from across the room. Send photos and we will tell you.
How does in-home cabinet refinishing work?
The cabinet boxes are refinished in place, usually 1 to 2 days of work in your home, while the doors and drawer fronts come to our shop. Whole-kitchen jobs typically finish in about two weeks.
What looks can you do?
New stains, darker tones, paint, and antique, faux, whitewash or pickling looks, in sheens from matte to satin. We cannot stain lighter than the natural wood, so going much lighter usually means paint.
How much does it cost compared to new cabinets?
Refinishing costs a fraction of replacement and skips the demolition. Every kitchen gets its own detailed estimate based on the number of doors and drawers and the finish.
