Furniture Refinishing

Forest Hills was laid out in 1924, and the Tudors and cottages that went up around it through the 1920s and 1930s still hold a lot of original furniture, most of it worth considerably more than the tired finish sitting on top of it.

At Andrew’s, we take pride in using only the best and most advanced materials on the market. We believe that spending extra money on the best materials gives us consistency and keeps our customers happy with their newly restored furniture!

Our qualified team of professionals can custom stain and color tone to match as close as possible to any example as specified by the client. We work each layer by hand for a superior finish.

Want to do a project yourself but don’t want to have to deal with hours of the prep work? Let us chemically strip your piece down so that you don’t have to!

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about furniture refinishing in White Rock Lake / Forest Hills.

How much does furniture refinishing cost near White Rock Lake?

Refinishing starts around $600 and moves up with the size and condition of the piece. A single dining chair runs $275 to $375, a dresser or hutch $1,200 to $2,200, and a full dining set $2,500 to $4,000. Photos through the free online estimate get you an exact figure.

I have an antique with an old shellac finish. What do you do with those?

We strip the piece and refinish it in a modern lacquer, which gives you a finish that actually stands up to heat, water and daily use. We do not offer French polish, and we would not recommend it for a piece you intend to live with.

Can you match the stain on the rest of my dining room?

Yes. We color-match on the actual piece, applying test passes until it reads correctly next to what you already own, rather than signing off on a sample board. Three to six passes is normal. The one hard limit is that we cannot stain a piece lighter than its natural wood.

Forest Hills is a fair drive from Carrollton. How does pickup work?

We are about 22 to 25 miles northwest of the lake, roughly 35 minutes. Pickup and delivery is available across DFW starting at $250 round trip, quoted up front in your estimate, and you are always welcome to drop off instead. Refinishing runs 5 to 6 weeks once we have the piece.
