Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about furniture refinishing in White Rock Lake / Forest Hills.

Can you replace the foam without redoing the whole piece?

Yes, on loose cushions with a removable cover or a zipper. New high-density foam in the firmness you choose, or a down-feather wrap, and your covers go back on. Cushions sewn into the frame are handled as reupholstery, because the labor comes out the same either way.

Should I drop the cushions off or book a pickup?

For cushion-only work we prefer a drop-off at the Carrollton shop. It is about a 35 minute drive from the lake, and it keeps the job from carrying a $250+ round-trip pickup fee that a bag of cushions does not really warrant. Pickup makes sense when the whole piece is coming.

Do you make cushions for a screened porch or a dock-side seating area?

Yes. Outdoor cushions are built with outdoor-rated foam and Sunbrella performance fabric, which holds its color through a Dallas summer far better than an indoor fabric pressed into service.

The foam is still good but the cover is split. Is that worth doing?

Often it is the smartest job on the list. We replace cushion casings and zippers on their own, so you are paying for sewing rather than a full rebuild.
